Real Madrid and Manchester United met at Philip II Arena at Skopje, Macedonia for UEFA Super Cup. The UEFA Super Cup is held between the winners of the Champions League (Real Madrid) and Europa League (Manchester United).
The match featured new signings Lindelof, Matic and Lukaku from the Red Devils and the Royals of Madrid featured Isco on the left wing in place of Cristiano Ronaldo, who is back after a long time and was in the bench until the 83rd minute.
Real Madrid were aggressive from the very beginning and got a breakthrough at the 24th minute when Casemiro scored a goal off a cross from right-back Dani Carvajal. The rest of the first half featured saves from David De Gea addsome shots for the white outfit.
The second goal of the match and for Real Madrid came at the 58th minute when Isco scored off an assist from Gareth Bale. Romelu Lukaku replied with a goal of his own at his first competitive debut minutes after the clock hit the hour mark.
But the Jose Mourinho team were no match for the best team in Europe and lost by a goal to his former team.
This Super Cup is the fourth Super Cup for Real Madrid and as defending champions they did well to be crowned as the best team of Europe.
