Australia has managed to foil a plan by a group of Islam-extremists to bring down an aircraft with Improvised Explosive Device (IED’s) . Four suspects have been arrested following the raids across Sydney.
Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull said that this was part of an ‘elaborate plan’. The officials declined to comment on the specifics of the plan, but Australian Federal Police Commissioner Andrew Colvin described the plot as “Islamic-inspired”. A total of 12 attacks, before the latest announcement, have been prevented in the past few years, while 70 people have been charged, Justice Minister Michael Keenan said.
